Ambience Pick
Reserve the Mood, Not Just the Meal.
01. The Challenge
Most restaurant reservation platforms provide a basic booking experience — select a time, enter your details, and hope for the best. Users lack control over where they'll be seated, have no visibility into the ambiance, and often find themselves calling restaurants to confirm preferences. For premium or special occasion dining, this impersonal process doesn’t match expectations. The challenge was to create a more immersive, transparent, and flexible reservation experience that lets users choose tables based on mood, layout, and availability.
02. The Solution
I designed Ambience Pick, a visual-first mobile app that empowers users to reserve not just a time, but a specific table in their preferred zone — be it the terrace, bar, or dining hall. The experience begins with a photo-rich restaurant profile, enhanced with both Michelin Star credibility and crowd-sourced user ratings. A dynamic, color-coded table map allows users to explore, compare, and select seats in real-time. With transparent reservation charges and a smooth payment flow, users feel in control — from discovery to confirmation.
03. The Result
The new flow turned a generic task into an engaging, trust-building experience. Users appreciated the ability to “see the space before the service,” and testing showed a 40% increase in reservation completion rates. Visual table selection reduced booking anxiety and created higher satisfaction post-booking. Michelin star integration elevated credibility, especially for first-time diners. Ambience Pick proved that when users are empowered to personalize their dining experience, they are more likely to book — and come back.
